Taken at Showplace on the 28th from the balcony with my lens zoomed to about 250mm. The fast movements and low light proved to be a challenge however I did manage to get the a few good shots.

The different color and style stage lights gave us lots to play with.  In this example the stage was bathed in all blue light which gave the shot its surreal look.

Taken at the beginning of our off-road adventure the other day.  You can see the sand all over the steering wheel already (not pictured, the sand on the dash and in everyones’ hair, eyes and mouth).

Rainstorm last night

Posted on May 27, 2008

Its been a couple of slow weeks for photography. Been mostly busy and uninspired but the rain storm last night although short provided some excellent after shots.

Knox

Taken across from Knox United Church with nicely gleaming streets from the rain and streetlight.

Bridge

Looking down the path beside the train bridge downtown. All of these shots are straight from the camera.

Off-road adventure

muddin

This is my friend Chad climbing a steep, rutted hill yesterday. He got stuck and in the process of trying to get out, dug a hole with his front tire a foot and a half deep.

Taken with 18-55mm lens with a polarizer. Photoshopped for exposure because this particular shot was terribly underexposed as I just snapped it quickly without out thinking to meter it.

PS it’s both Chad and Colin’s birthday today! They just turned 4 and a half.

Taken a few summers ago on the screen of my gazebo.  I’m surprised I was brave enough to get this close.

Thrashing around in Northumberland

 Brown Thrasher

Pictured here is a Brown Thrasher at the Alderville Black Oak Savanna. This bird is a mimic that can imitate up to 3000 bird calls! It makes it sound like there is dozens of bird around when there is only one…what a crazy bird.

Taken with my 70-200L f/4 at 200mm and cropped at +50%

Bo (the cat) understands that he’s not allowed to eat Ducky, but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to.

Night Time Oranges

teepee

Taken at Trent a few years back.  This is just before sundown.  It exposed for 15 seconds if I remember correctly.

The Sun looks bright in the backround (back right) but it was very faint and dark at the time, just being emphasized by the long exposure.
