Boating

meboat

Taken at Millenium Park here in town.  It’s the boat that one of the statue children are holding by the little pool area.

I didn’t include the immensely creepy picture of the boys face for fear of unleashing his soul upon all of you.

Dynamic Trains Part 2

tracks

Another HDR picture of the tracks in Peterborough. I think HDR is ideal for train tracks as it captures their many textures and colours accurately.

Duck

This female mallard was captured at 200mm as it was swimming with the current on the Otonabee River in Peterborough.

HDR Track Perspective

Posted on October 25, 2008

Train

I’ve been wanting to take a picture like this for awhile, but was waiting for the right opportunity to lie down on train tracks. This was three exposures combined in Photomatix, however I wasn’t impressed with the output so I tweaked it in Photoshop and Lightroom to make the colours pop the way I wanted. Taken at 17mm on a crop sensor.

High Dynamic Range Glistening Leaves

trash

A one-off shot of a bunch of debris under a bridge on an overcast day. Luckily I took multiple exposures and it somehow turned out amazingly. Probably my favorite HDR yet, it makes me feel smooth and happy.

Millenium Park Sights

Posted on October 24, 2008

fluffy

Taken in Millenium Park.

One of the very few shots that I actually liked from the ‘roll of film’ I took on a photographic adventure Colin and I were on today.

I hope he had better luck!

I’m not mentally prepared for this!

snowinoct

Apparently the dude with the boat was caught by surprise as well.  Really who wasn’t/isn’t– snow in October?  It’s like the world just skipped right over Halloween.

An open letter to the world:

Dear World,

RE: Snow in October

I think you may have mistakenly snowed today.

I’ll accept your apology if you promptly remove it.

Otherwise.. we’re in a fight.

Sincerely
-Steve

Flock of Seagull

flyinseagull

A lucky pan shot with the 50mm, I somehow got his face in focus.  Sure it’s not composed properly with him right in the bottom middle like that but  what can you do.

Fall Colours

fallsquirrel

Taken with the 50.  Just another shot of fall colors, but I especially like this shot for some reason.

I hope the squirrel doesn’t…. fall … get it? …*crickets*
