The Benefits of a Polarizer Filter

This is two pictures pasted over top of each other; one taken with a polarizer, one without.
The benefits are apparent. The polarizer basically removes reflected sunlight, not allowing it to enter the lens. The result being a deeper, darker sky, clearer water and greener leaves.
Photoshop can work wonders and has nullified the effect of some filters (why buy a warm filter when you can apply the same effect in one step in Photoshop?), however polarizers have stood their ground, as duplicating their effect would be very laborious and even impossible in some cases.

A Silver Dollar… in plant form

“Freedom at last!” quothe the baby plant. “Too long have I lain forlorn in thine pocket, the sunshine seen rarely through a peek, now revenge is all I seek.”
I guess I didn’t know what I was in for when I planted these Silver Dollar seeds. Heathyr gave them to me way back in the Fall. They’ve been hanging out in my coat pocket for months.

Plumbing, Batman, and everything synchronized

After an epic search for a competent and reliable plumber that was likened to the process seen in shows such as “So You Think You Can Plumb”, “American Plumbing Idol”, and “Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Plumbing Crew” we looked inward and found such a star in Heathyr’s Dad who pulled off the miraculous routine seen below:
Now we have a washer and dryer hurray! Next step is roughing in the darkroom - stay tuned. Also, this weekend I videotaped some synchronized swimming routines and thought I’d share this epic opening by the batman team. This is not Heathyr’s routine but I will be posting more videos to the Vimeo site over the next couple of days.

Acorn Ninja

Becky crocheted me this incredible acorn this evening from a design in her new crochet-a-day calendar. She’s clearly a skillful girl!
He doesn’t have a name yet, but he IS stuffed with dryer fluff (thanks Mom!).
So in conclusion, he’s my bud.
